VJT helps children to stay safe on the roads

31 May 2021

Our Transport Manager Aarron Buss is passionate about road safety, with a focus on keeping both drivers and pedestrians as safe as possible. Aarron works with several local schools to share his knowledge with the children on how to stay safe on the roads.

He recently visited a rural school to speak to the children about the dangers faced on country roads in particular. As the children were aged between 9 and 11 and heading towards the transition to secondary school, one of the key points of discussion was independence and travelling to school without a parent.

This included warning of the dangers of distractions, phone use, headphones and even chatting to friends. Key to this was ensuring the children understand the rules of the road if they are cycling and surveying the road outside their school to see if there are any improvements that could be made by road planners to make pedestrians and cyclists safer. Aarron also talked to the children about the environmental impact vehicles have and what we do at VJ Technology as a business to reduce our carbon emissions.
