VJ Technology distributes and manufacture fixings systems, fasteners, tools and associated products to the construction and civil engineering industries. Our customers include many of the best known names in the country, among them main contractors and specialist subcontractors.

Products

VJT stocks an enormous range of fixings, fastenings, and construction consumables (probably the broadest range in the industry) giving customers a true ‘one stop shop’. We know that when a product is needed it’s generally needed fast… so we deliver the goods! Our range is constantly evolving as new technologies and products come on stream. Products are sourced from a mix of leading global manufacturers and smaller, specialist companies which often make unique items exclusively for us. From high performance resins, undercut anchors and screwbolts to essential commodities like screws and nails, you can rely on VJT to deliver, from stock, the next day.

Research

Research & Development

As well as monitoring trends in the construction industry and new products launched by manufacturers, our own development initiatives have resulted in several innovative, industry leading products.

The VJT ‘EC410+’ - for use in winter, means studs and rebar set faster and contractors don’t waste time waiting lengthy times for the resin to cure. . And V420+, HPE 385 and HPE 585 resin systems hold European Technical Approvals.

HAVS & RCS Test Laboratory

VJT has a laboratory and the leading industry expert dedicated to hand arm vibration syndrome and RCS Dust.

Manufacturing

VJT recognises that there will always be instances when customers have an urgent requirement for non stock items. As part of our customer facing commitment we have developed a small, specialist in-house manufacturing unit that produces Chemical Anchor Studs and ITS Sockets in stainless, galvanised and zinc plated steel specific to customer requirements.

Support Services

At our distribution centre in Ashford we hold enough stock to satisfy 97% of customer’s orders for next day delivery. Our fleet of Mercedes vans delivers within the M25 while long-term relationships with national couriers help to keep their performance to our required standards for deliveries nationally. Delivery is guaranteed next day, but we constantly work to satisfy urgent requests for ‘mission critical’ items with a same day service where we can reach the delivery address in time.

Technical Support

Where performance characteristics are unusually demanding, or there is a new application without an off-the-shelf answer, VJT’s approach is refreshing. We’ll do whatever it takes to find an appropriate solution that is acceptable to the engineer and our customer. We have even been known to go to extraordinary lengths in order to prove performance to site engineers.

Training

All technical sales staff within VJT are accredited by manufacturers to train site personnel in the safe use of cartridge tools and abrasive wheels. VJT’s Technical Department can provide various training programmes including, product training, correct installation procedures etc. which can be carried out on-site, at VJT’s facilities or at the manufacturer’s premises

Next day (even same day) Delivery

Because our drivers work for us and no-one else they are aware of how important it is to get deliveries right first time, very time. Our experience with compact, inner city sites and large, complex sites means we fully recognise the importance of delivery conditions and on-site dates. Our drivers understand issues that arise on sites – such as security, or traffic volume and they make sure packages are left where they are needed on large sites, often making multiple drops.

E-trading

VJT was at the fore in using e-trading within the construction and civil engineering supplies sector. Both Asite and COINS are integrated into the Great Plains system, allowing our customers to place orders electronically. In turn picking notes, delivery notes and invoices are produced electronically.

IT

With over 12,500 line items accurate and upto-the-minute inventory management is crucial. The system is live so all orders can be acknowledged instantly and customers can be confident that when an order is accepted it will be fulfilled. Orders are picked according to priority so as to optimise product availability, and, where necessary, VJT has agreements with its suppliers for ‘direct to customer’ deliveries using VJT originated documentation. Customer trends are monitored and stock levels adjusted proactively.
